About Syncopation.
For a long time, I was told I was off.
Too strange, too late, too early. Not normal.
I tried adjusting—straightening my timing, softening my edges—but the more I forced myself into the grid, the less I was myself.
That’s when I learned about syncopation.
In music, syncopation shifts the stress away from where it’s expected. The off-beat, the gap, the silence. It sounds strange at first, almost incorrect.
But it’s not a mistake. It’s a deliberate move.
This album comes from that realization.
The things that made me feel out of place weren’t flaws—they were choices.
Not landing on the beat doesn’t mean you missed it.
Sometimes it means you reshaped it.
